System Administration Guide

1. Installing Trellis

This document will guide you through the steps necessary to install Trellis. It assumes you have some UNIX knowledge including familiarity with the command line. Installation is technically a two part process. The first part will install the Trellis framework while the second part will install the learning management system. The process is quite simple and should not take more than 20 minutes if all the dependencies are installed. This document does not discuss hardware requirements for different sizes of organizations. It is up to you to determine what type of server you will need. Trellis is developed on Gentoo, but should run without any problems on any GNU+Linux distribution.

1.1. Preparation

Before you begin installing Trellis, you must already have PHP, MySQL, and an HTTP Server (Apache) installed. Trellis currently requires the following versions:

1.2. Web Installer

1.3. Final Steps

2. Managing Clients

2.1. Adding Clients

2.2. Configuring Clients

2.3. Removing Clients
