user : an individual who uses the learning management system

learner : a user who participates in training or education

SCORM : a standard which defines the packaging, communication, and delivery of a training module

AICC : a standard for communicating training data between an LMS and training modules

program : a collection of courses that can be used to deliver curriculum to learners

course : a specific tracked training module; the basis for learning; represents a training requirement

XML, eXtensible Markup Language : a markup language used to store data in a structured format; It can be extended to suit many different needs (Wikipedia)
