I agree that ecommerce may not be a necessity to the Trellis software,
and yes it is necessary to explore how easy it would be to integrate
with 3rd party ecommerce software. I don't think there is a standard
communication protocol that can be used between an LMS and shopping
cart, but that would be the nicest solution.
The ideal solution would be something like what paypal offers where the
shopping cart is entirely run by them. Maybe we can use that as a model?
